Putting things up
Fixing and hanging of pictures, shelves, curtains, blinds, light fittings, internal rails, coving, ceiling roses etc.
Assembling
Assembling of all types of
flat pack furniture including sheds, greenhouses and animal hutches.
Minor carpentry
Fitting doors, gates, cupboards, wall cladding, loft boarding/legs/hatches, dado rails and shelving.
Appliance repair
Repair of many items including domestic appliances, small electrical appliances and garden machinery.
Minor electrics
Replacing and fixing plugs, switches, sockets, lamps, doorbells, lighting, cabling and extractor fans.
Minor plumbing
Fitting new or fixing faulty taps, toilets, showers, pipes, external taps, washing machines - leaky things.
Interior design
I work with Plan and Paint interior design service - rom a few ideas to full project management.
Outdoor work
Trellis, guttering, pergola or catio installation, pressure washing etc. Sadly not fences...I'm too old.
Prices
Prices
The first hour (whether I'm there for 10 minutes or a full hour) is charged at £44.00.
Subsequent hours are charged in 15 minute increments.
I provide verbal or written estimates or fixed price quotations; whichever you prefer.
All bookings of one day or more are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% if cancelled within two working days of the booking.
I am usually booked up three to five weeks ahead, but can usually slot smaller jobs and emergencies in.
For areas further than a few minutes out of Faringdon I charge travel time at the hourly rate.

About
I’m Roger Carpenter and I’ve been The Faringdon Handyman since 2019. I am a capable handyman competent in work in the home and garden. I trained and worked in engineering, fabrication and tool use in the RAF for 22 years. I particularly enjoy bespoke projects where I need to work out how to do something. I work with Plan and Paint, a local interior design business, to fulfil projects such as kitchens and bathrooms.
